The main difference between these three types of products lies in their texture and consistency.

Serums

Texture: Serums have a light, gel-like consistency.

Ingredients: Serums contain highly concentrated active ingredients like antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, or peptides, which target specific skin issues such as wrinkles, acne, or hyperpigmentation.

Application: Serums are typically applied after cleansing and before moisturizing to treat and address specific skin needs.

Essences

Texture: Essences have an even lighter, watery consistency compared to serums and absorb quickly into the skin.

Ingredients: Essences are primarily enriched with hydrating and soothing ingredients. They hydrate the skin and prepare it optimally for the following skincare products.

Application: Essences are applied directly after cleansing to prepare the skin for serums, creams, etc., and to improve moisture absorption.

Concentrates

Texture: Concentrates can come in various consistencies – from thin and liquid to gel-like, and even thicker textures.

Ingredients: Like serums, concentrates contain highly effective ingredients. Their targeted formulations focus on specific skin issues and, due to a broader combination of various active ingredients, offer even more specific effects.

Application: A concentrate is applied after the essence, often as the last step in your skincare routine (e.g., at night) to provide intensive care.

In the morning, a light serum or essence under moisturizer and makeup is often suitable, while in the evening, you can opt for a richer serum or concentrate for intensive care. In summer, lighter textures provide moisture without weighing down the skin, while in winter, the skin often craves something richer, like an oil-based serum, to nourish the skin deeply.

Almost all our serums, concentrates, and essences provide intensive moisture for dry skin thanks to hyaluronic acid. Our hyaluronic concentrate uses both long- and short-chain hyaluronic acid, creating a moisturizing film on the skin and achieving a long-term smoothing effect. OPC, resveratrol, and other valuable ingredients from grapes are ideal for caring for ageing skin. Wrinkles are plumped up, and collagen production is sustainably stimulated. The lifting serum optimally plumps up ageing skin and protects against free radicals. If you prefer a watery consistency, opt for our firming essence – the stem cells from Damask rose and grape tighten the skin, work preventively against wrinkles, while ginger-mint extract soothes the skin simultaneously. Both the face and neck, as well as the eye area, are sustainably smoothed, moisturized, and restructured with the firming active ingredient concentrate. Glimmer pigments ensure an even glow. The highly efficient active complex of barley and lemon balm extract, along with the secondary plant substance rutin, protects skin cells from oxidative environmental influences and stimulates cell regeneration.
